VADODARA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION PARKS & GARDEN DEPT.

The Parks and Garden Department was established with a mission to provide the best environmental condition to live in by providing the citizens with recreational area by creating parks, garden, fountain and tree plantation near their neighborhood with reduced level of air and noise pollution by improving micro alignment at city level.

The major functions of the Parks & garden Department are as enlisted below

  • Development of parks & garden in reserve plots of T.P .schemes
  • Maintenance of existing gardens.
  • Development & Maintenance of recreations park, children‘s traffic park, fountains etc.
  • Development & Maintenance of plantation & mass plantation along road side and road divider.
  • Creating awareness towards benefits of tree plantation /Environment.
  • Distributing trees sapling during monsoon period at free of cost.
  • Disaster rescue operation carried out like tree cutting, pruning during heavy storm, rain, flood etc.
  • Traffic week is organized during the period of 1st January to 7th January for development of civic sense at   Sayajibaug traffic centre.
  • Flower show and Exhibition are organized for public awareness regarding environment.
  • Amphi theatre for cultural programme.
  • Permission of movie shooting in garden.
  • Permission of removing Tree or branches.

The following work was carried out by the department

  • Total 77 Nos. of garden are developed in different zones.
  • 20 Nos. of garden develop during last ten year, 10 Nos. of garden under development and 11 Nos. of garden develop with public participation.
  • Tree plantation along the roadside and road divider.
  • Mass scale tree plantation done along shelter belt & Green belt.
  • Gujarat Govt. scheme “Nagar Nandanvan Scheme” develop green belt and 12,000 plants are planted T.P-13 near chhani Narmda canal.
  • Joy train are installed in Sayajibaug with Public Private Partnership (PPP) for entertainment.
